I had a blast with these two families! One family was from out of town the other was a transplant but seriously no matter where you come from, there’s no denying that Portland is a gorgeous place!

Meagan and Ty
Meagan and Ty braved the potential rain to shoot with me last week. We were lucky enough to catch the one hour of no rain that day! We shot in the unassuming back of Cook Park in Tigard, OR. To get to this beautiful part of the park you have to manage to bypass the soccer fields, baseball fields, and playground. If you make it far enough you will find beautiful tree groves and a dock along the Tualatin River. I had the pleasure of shooting this adorable couple’s wedding a few years back, they are still just as giddy and cute as that magical day!

Nikki & Blake
If I had to chose only three words to describe Nikki and Blake it would be funny, wild and head over heals in love! Okay, so that last one was actually seven words, but you get the picture. And their wedding was exactly the same. The girls started getting ready at their hotel with Chelsea x2 doing hair and makeup. That isn’t their business name, there were two gals and they were both named Chelsea! Spelled differently though I am told. Nikki was surrounded by wonderful friends, her sister, her mother and her grandmother, who I can tell all share a very special bond. I was so happy that you could really that come through in the pictures.
The gentlemen, flasks in hand, were having a great time giving Blake a hard time. These were the guys you want at your party, they have fun rain or shine, get everyone smiling and dancing and having a good time. Needless to say we had some fun with their “guys shoot”.
The wedding took place at Troutdale House in Troutdale. It is a beautiful venue. The brides room up stair was stellar! Lots of room and beautiful ambiance! The Troutdale house sits right in front of a railroad track, which we found out it is very much still in use! During our formals, right as I had almost the whole bridal party up on the tracks, we hear the whistle blow! After everyone got off the tracks we seized the moment and used the moving train as our backdrop for some very romantic pictures, although I felt bad for the bridesmaids who had to do some seriously fast walking in gravel to get off the tracks, sorry ladies!
The ceremony was beautiful, the groom, Blake made a beautiful arch way out of mossy branches for their ceremony. The rain held off through the entire ceremony! In October here in Oregon you just never know what you will get. It certainly did not rain on this parade!

Newborn portraits are unique from any other type of portrait sitting. The subject never listens to you, they cannot be bribed to smile, tickled to laugh and usually only cares about one thing; eating. Yet the results are some of the most sweetest most precious portraits out there. One week old Henry’s pictures were no different. Simply precious!

Photo Booth is up and running!
Just in time for Nikki and Blake’s up coming wedding I have finished assembling my photo booth! After spending a considerable amount of time at Fry’s in Wilsonville I have all the technological components working and functioning properly. I really want the guests to be able to see their picture after it is taken so I have transferred the live view to a t.v. which will sit right next to the camera set up. Just to make sure that everything worked as I wanted it to my good spirited hubby helped me test it out! can you tell we had some fun with it?

Heidi’s Senior Pictures
Heidi was such a blast to shoot. She was laid back and fun. She didn’t mind that we shot out in SE Portland, where there are no bathrooms or anywhere to change outfits! She was an awesome model trekking through railroad tracks and up and down the streets to various buildings, docks and green spaces. Portland has some of the best backdrops. It really is a great place to shoot any time of year.
